Join Vanisa Dhiru who is the current National President of the National Council of Women in New Zealand, as she discusses what has changed since women won the right to vote 125 years ago - the progress we can be proud of and areas where change is still very much needed.
New Zealand born Indian Vanisa Dhiru is imminently qualified to speak on the topics of inequality and will use examples from her own life and work, including recent work with the National Council of Women New Zealand, who are championing for a Gender Equal New Zealand.
During her recent working career, Vanisa has been in CEO level roles in the NGO sector, including CEO of Volunteering New Zealand, Chair of ComVoices and Executive Director of the 20/20 Trust. Her wide community involvement has secured her a place in the BMW Foundation Responsible Leaders Global Network.
Vanisa's key achievements include “50 Women of Achievement 2016” Women to watch about progressing gender equality; and finalist for a number of awards in the past including Young New Zealander of the Year in 2010 – and she has since been an Executive Judge for the NZ Awards.
She is passionate about equality, developing young people and cultural relations.
