About the role

This full-time Business Development Manager role represents an exciting opportunity to join the Nelson Provincial Museum and drive new business opportunities for the organisation. Based in the vibrant city of Nelson Central Tasman, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies to expand the museum's customer base and revenue streams.

What you'll be doing

  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to grow the museum's client base and revenue

  • Developing and executing sales and marketing plans to promote the museum's products and services

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including potential customers, partners, and industry contacts

  • Analysing market trends and competitor activity to inform the museum's business development strategy

  • Collaborating with the leadership team to develop innovative offerings that meet the evolving needs of customers

  • Providing regular reports on sales performance and pipeline to the management team

  • Supporting the wider team in the delivery of exceptional customer service

 What we're looking for

  • Significant experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within the museum, arts, or cultural sectors

  • Proven track record of identifying and securing new business opportunities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to inform strategic decision-making

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and the creativity to develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs

  • Passion for the arts, culture, and the mission of the Nelson Provincial Museum
