As part of our mission to collect ‘history as it happens’, our strategic collecting focus for 2022 relates to food production and retail in our beautiful region.

To commemorate Remembrance Day, the Nelson Provincial Museum would like to acknowledge the generous donation of two significant medals awarded to Belgian nurse Mariette Victorina van Aerde during WWI.

In 2017, the Museum presented its first trilingual (English, Chinese (Mandarin) and Te Reo Māori) display about Appo Hocton.
