WISH YOU WERE HERE

Summer Memories from Te Tauihu

11 December 2026 – 31 January 2027

Remember those long summer days, family camping trips, swimming at your favourite beach or river, and the excitement of heading away on holiday?

Wish You Were Here takes a nostalgic look at summer in Nelson Tasman, exploring the places, people and traditions that have shaped our summer memories across generations.

Through photographs, personal stories, objects and home movies, discover how we holidayed, played and worked from the 1950s to today.

WHAT DOES SUMMER IN NELSON TASMAN MEAN TO YOU?

Was it camping by the river, long days at the beach, a road trip to the family bach, or your first summer job picking fruit?

Nelson Provincial Museum is inviting the community to share photographs, home movies, memorabilia and personal memories for Wish You Were Here: Summer Memories from Te Tauihu, opening this December.

From favourite holiday places and family traditions to working summers and unforgettable adventures, we want to hear your stories.
