This lesson introduces the celebrated Māori artist Sandy Adsett and his exhibition Toi Koru.
Students explore koru shapes and kōwhaiwhai patterns, discuss the artist’s evolving style and personal messages in his art, and create their own koru-inspired artwork expressing personal meaning or stories.”
